The beautiful gardens that are in full bloom, creating peaceful spaces for residents, families, and team members to enjoy. Every path and flower bed reflects the warmth and dedication that make Gull Creek feel like home.

"I earned my undergraduate degree in social work from Salisbury University and a master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. I have spent the past 15 years working in senior living across skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care. Currently, I serve as the Health Services Administrator for Bayleigh Chase; a beautiful 35-acre CCRC located in Easton, MD. I oversee the operations in both the skilled nursing and assisted living communities. Bayleigh Chase is within the portfolio of ACTs Retirement Communities."

From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the family culture that makes this community so special. It was a pleasure meeting Caroline, the new Administrator, and seeing her excitement for the future. We also loved getting a look at the beautiful renovations that are helping create an even more welcoming home for residents.

And, of course, we couldn't leave without saying hello to the iconic lion mascot statue—a perfect symbol of the strength, pride, and heart that defines this community.

Last week, the Maryland Department of Aging proudly announced that AARP has officially designated Maryland as an Age-Friendly State. This prestigious honor marks an important milestone in the rollout of the state's Longevity Ready Maryland (LRM) multisector plan for aging.

Let's hear it for our next Board Member spotlight--none other than Kay Mattutat!

Kay is a Property & Casualty insurance broker with USI Insurance Services . She has 11 years of industry experience specializing in risk management for healthcare, non-profit, and real estate organizations. Kay has been a member of LifeSpan for five years, and this is her fourth year serving as a board member for The Beacon Institute.
