It's all about saving the planet!

A noteworthy educational experience unfolds when preschool and kindergarten students join forces to craft a game, tapping into their collective creativity. The project commenced with an inquiry into shapes, with younger participants recognizing circles and squares. This led to an exploration of three-dimensional objects, where the students examined the properties of spheres and cubes and contemplated the spatial relationship between a spear and a cube.

The Howard County Discovery Fair was a dino-mite opportunity for families to get a sneak peek into what a day is like at Creative Little Minds Learning Center II and III!

At CLMLC II, things got prehistoric fast with our dinosaur theme. The children became junior paleontologists—digging into fun facts about different dinosaurs, examining X-rays of their skeletons (no actual dinos were harmed in the process!), stomping out dinosaur footprints in playdough, and attempting to build wooden towers as tall as they imagined a dinosaur might be. Let’s just say… some of those towers were more “tiny T-Rex” than “towering Brontosaurus,” but the effort was legendary!

Over at Creative Little Minds Learning Center III, things were rolling—literally—with our ramp-building theme. Armed with cardboard boxes, PVC pipes, cardboard tubes, and building blocks, the children engineered their own ramps like mini construction pros. Once their masterpieces were complete, they tested which objects would zoom, roll, or… just sit there stubbornly at the top. (Turns out, not everything is built for speed!)

Both activities sparked teamwork, creativity, logical thinking, and plenty of “Wait… what if we try THIS?!” moments. Most importantly, they brought out lots of smiles, laughter, and just a little bit of friendly competition.
