Too much!

Where are the parents?

Where are the parents, the parents of today?
Who leave their children to go astray
Some have turned their head with no realization
That we can be easily misled
It is hard to believe but it is not a dream
Our parents are not on our team.

Where are the parents?
Those who send their children to school with no books or even little food
With no guidance we are left all alone
Words unspoken and our hearts sadly broken
Am I mistaken?

Good parents still exist
But the are preoccupied that we have become last on their list
Having a good time with their fancy hairstyles
We have become lost without a positive lifestyle
Having lost our pride we know God is still on our side.

Our education is no longer a priority
And it is treated with indignity
Where do we stand and what have we done wrong
We have no leadership when our parents continue to strive for our friendship.

Where are the parents when their children are wearing frowns and gallivanting all over town
Are they at home on bended knees or praying to God to send them home safely?

It is time for us to stand up for our rights and hope to God that parents will see the light. Parents need to be more responsible
Act more sensible, be more reliable
Let us feel incredible
Surely, it is not impossible.

I know that this is the 21st century where technology has taken over the lives of our children. What has become of parents who used to play an important part in their children's lives ensuring discipline and that they learn the social graces that we do not hear frequently??

I am thankful for health and strength.
