One of the most loved traditions at Aya is our Interactive Hajj experience, and every year, it gets even better. 🕋
What started as a school activity has become something far more special: a fully student-led experience, brought to life by our Upper Elementary students. Golden House, our 4th through 6th year students, take the lead each year, and the result is pure magic. The jokes, the simplicity, the genuine dedication they bring to recreating each station, it never fails to amaze us.
With passports and tickets in hand, our younger students move through different stations representing the stages of Hajj, learning through movement, imagination, and the guidance of their older peers. They collect stamps from every station.
This is what it looks like when children teach children, and faith comes alive through play.

The last day of school for our staff this year was spent exactly the way it should be: on the farm, together.
We closed out the 2025/26 academic year with a meaningful workshop on Managing Stress and Building Resilience, led by Sumayyah Taufique (Sumayyah), LCSW. The rest of the day was spent in good suhbah, reflection, and gratitude for everything this year held.
What a beautiful way to close one chapter and welcome the summer ahead.
To our staff: thank you for everything you gave this year. May Allah use us for good and never replace us.

Term 1 of Aya Montessori Summer Camp begins this Monday and we could not be more excited!
We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Qalami Academy, founded by our very own Elementary Arabic instructor, Ms. Dana Ibrahim. Throughout summer camp, Ms. Dana will be working with our Elementary students ages 7 to 11, Monday through Thursday, in small groups for one hour each day. Her seventeen years of experience and genuine love for the Arabic language are a true gift to our students this summer.
By the grace of Allah ﷻ and the wisdom of our Elementary Islamic Studies instructor, Ustadha Zainab, our sixth year students in Upper Elementary just completed something special.
Over three years, they studied the entire Sirah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through book “Revelation” by Meraj Mohiuddin, starting at age nine and finishing right before turning twelve, alhamdulillah. To mark the journey, they created a hand-made Sirah timeline with their own hands.
Three years of learning, page by page, until it became part of who they are.
جزاكِ الله خيرًا, Ustadha Zainab. And to our students, may the Prophet’s ﷺ life always be your light.

🏰 A Zakat Tale Play by ILYAS & DUCK 🏰 The excitement after is still in the air and we are not ready to let this moment go!
Let’s be real. This was not always easy. Learning lines, hitting cues, stepping onto a stage for the very first time, and then facing technical difficulties mid-performance that could have thrown anyone off. But our Golden House students? They kept going. They held it together, stayed in character, and delivered.
💚 To our Upper Elementary, stepping onto a stage for the very first time and doing it the way you did, with heart, with courage, and with each other, that is something to be deeply proud of. We certainly are. 💚

To our Aya community, thank you.
More than 500 of you showed up, and we felt every single one of you.
Our End of Year Celebration was everything we hoped it would be and more. We celebrated student performances, the premiere of our very first play, our Primary graduates taking their next steps, and our Upper Elementary graduating cohort, Aya's very first, stepping boldly into 7th grade.
This community is something special. You show up, you cheer, you cry, you laugh, and you remind us exactly why we do this work.
More videos on the way, inshaAllah. You will not want to scroll past them.

🎭 Aya’s First Play: A Zakat Tale 🎭
Alhamdulillah, what a night.
The brilliant Omar Khawaja of ILYAS & DUCK brought to life the most spectacular play, performed by our Upper Elementary students, with one beautiful goal in mind: to make Zakat real, tangible, and meaningful for young children. And they delivered.
Our young actors were phenomenal on that stage. But there was equal dedication happening behind the scenes over the last four weeks.
To the incredible author, Omar Khawaja, and our dedicated parent volunteers: you made this possible. You showed up with patience, love, and commitment that carried these children all the way to opening night. You guided them through their very first play and gave them something they will never forget. May Allah reward you immensely and accept it from you all.
More footage of our incredible cast coming soon, stay tuned.
📸 Jazaka Allahu Khairan Br. Yasser Elhaggan for capturing these precious moments backstage.
Last week, our Elementary classrooms transformed into something truly special.
Our Upper Elementary students stepped into history, becoming the historic figures they spent weeks researching and bringing their biographies to life as a Living Museum for their families. Watching them own those stories with confidence and depth was something else entirely.
Meanwhile, our Lower and Upper Elementary prepared a Word Wall that told its own powerful story, showcasing the beautiful progression of writing skills from our 1st through 6th year students. Seeing that growth laid out so visibly, side by side, is the kind of thing that stops you in your tracks.
This was the second part of a two-part experience for our parent community this Spring, following our webinar “The Ripple Effect of Writing and Reading”, presented by our incredible Elementary consultant Sr. Zahra Majeed. Together, these two evenings gave our families a real window into the depth of literacy work happening in our classrooms every single day.
First World Cup game of the day? Respectfully, we disagree. 🏆😄
Our friendly match with The Olive Branch Preparatory School was the most epic game on the field today, and we will not be taking questions.
There is something so special about watching 2nd through 5th year students from all three of our elementary environments come together as one team.
We are grateful to The Olive Branch Preparatory School for a beautiful afternoon of sportsmanship, laughter, and friendly competition. We hope this is just the beginning of many more.
