Mother's Day Out - MDO at First Christian Church

One of our favorite days of the year is when our MDO School pictures are sent to our families! Scott Schaefer and Shannon Lilley Schaefer don't just show up with cameras, they show up with heart to capture the personalities of our friends at Mother's Day Out! We are very grateful to members of First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Columbia, Missouri like Shannon and Scott who have nurtured MDO for almost 60 years!

It’s been a busy day and we have some amazing volunteers at First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Columbia, Missouri! Huge shout out to Topher Endress, Scott Schaefer, Shannon Lilley Schaefer, Samantha Dunnings Ryley Batterson Hayley Batterson (and Matt) for helping with this much needed improvement to our playground surface!

We would love to see past, present, and prospective families and staff at the FCC Easter Egg Hunt happening THIS SUNDAY at 12:30!

Help us find over 2000 filled eggs, catch up with old friends and make some new ones while checking out our space!

Mother's Day Out is leaning into 2026 as the year of rebuilding our physical resources and updating our spaces! We'd love your support! We'll be sharing our plans over the next few weeks to upgrade classroom furniture, playground space, and more!

We were the luckiest preschool in Columbia yesterday to have Ms. Hilary herself, with the help of Mr. Jason who was with our older friends, join us from the DBRL Early Childhood Connections program! We sang and acted out stories, we learned about even more resources that the DBRL has to offer, and we loved every minute! CHECK OUT the local library! Yes. That was a pun.

On Saturday, August 2nd, we invite all to join Mother's Day Out and First Christian Church for our Lay-In Luau, celebrating the end of our summer semester! Bring blankets and pillows and join us for a family-friendly viewing of The King of Kings Movie! Doors open at 3:30 pm, movie and popcorn at 4:00 followed by a luau-inspired and family-friendly dinner!
