Registration is up for all sessions! We hope you will be able to join us for the 2nd annual School of Health Sciences Research Conference on Thursday, April 8th. We have over 35 abstract submissions, 2 interactive career sessions, and 2 keynote speaker events in Public Health & Medicine. Registration is free and open to the public right up until the time of the event. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Equestrian Studies major Emily Borgerding '22 on her summer internship acceptance to the Miner Institute in Chazy, New York!
The Miner Institute's mission is Research, Education, Demonstration. Emily went through a very competitive application and interview process. Her summer internship experience will consist of the management of a commercial equine facility and improved horse handling and training skills. Sessions on nutrition, reproduction, training, health and field crops will be held throughout the summer, as well as field trips. Interns will be involved in many aspects of data collection and evaluation, working closely with the principal investigators.

The afternoon keynote for our Health Science Research Conference features Dr. Michelle Teti, associate professor and associate chair of Public Health, and Dr. Enid Schatz, professor and department chair of Public Health, both at the University of Missouri.
Their 2:30 p.m. session will address “Health disparities and public health, from HIV to COVID and Beyond."

We'll be hosting two keynote addresses at our Health Science Research Conference on April 8. The first, Dr. Amanda Wright, is associate professor of Family Medicine and interim dean at the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Marian University.
