8 Hours of Online Continuing Education Units for Medical Professionals
Course Objectives:
1. Describe the current definition, diagnostic criteria, and epidemiology of concussion based on the latest evidence.
2. Explain the key anatomical and physiological systems involved in concussion and how dysfunction may present clinically.
3. Identify the primary clinical trajectories of concussion and their relevance to rehabilitation planning.
4. Differentiate causes of dizziness by ruling in/ruling out cervical, vestibular ocular and/or exertion intolerance contributors.
5. Apply a comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation framework to assess individuals with concussion.
6. Develop individualized intervention plans that align with the patientโs clinical trajectory and stage of recovery.
7. Demonstrate understanding of the interdisciplinary approach and how collaboration enhances concussion care and outcomes.
8. Analyze all factors and patient characteristics involved in return to play/activity decision making for optimal outcomes.
