In this hands-on activity, children use a magnet wand to test real objects —sorting them into magnetic (attracted) and non-magnetic (not attracted).

Preparing food isn’t just about cooking—it’s about independence, focus, and joy. Play kitchens are fun but Montessori educators know that real life experience is what really helps little ones grow in skill and confidence.

Students and staff members at Bryant Woods Montessori Children House (Columbia, MD), are thrilled for the week-long observation and celebration of Montessori Education Week and Maria Montessori (February 23 to March 1st).

Montessori is the most widely used educational method worldwide and includes thousands of schools across the United States. BWMCH (the only AMS accredited Montessori in Howard County) is inviting members of Columbia, MD and the surrounding community to come take a firsthand look at the child-centered, individualized approach developed more than 100 years ago by Dr. Maria Montessori.
