We are thrilled to host the American Musicological Society-Midwest Chapter conference on October 17, 2026. Below is the CFP information and link! Please submit 😀

The meeting will be in person, with an option to present virtually, primarily intended for those who live more than 150 miles from the conference location or have other circumstances that preclude attendance in person.

We welcome proposals for papers, special sessions, panel discussions, and papers with a performance component on any topic related to musicology. We are delighted to receive submissions from students, junior and senior faculty, and independent scholars. Abstract deadline: Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.

Complete submission guidelines, including information about abstract requirements, presentation formats, eligibility, membership, and student awards, are available on the Fall 2026 Call for Papers Page.

We are saddened to hear of musicologist Kendra Preston Leonard’s passing. Twice she Zoomed with University of Missouri School of Music students about her “Women in Silent Film” research. She will be remembered as a champion of Women in American Music research! 🙏
