Learning doesn’t stop when summer begins.☀️📚
Our faculty is always looking for ways to learn, grow, and bring fresh ideas back to the classroom. Throughout the summer, many have invested their time in professional learning opportunities to strengthen their skills and better serve our students.
Our own Madame Nadege Keller, French teacher and World Language Department Chair, spent part of her summer in Paris, France, serving as a presenter at the AP Summer Institute.
In the Lower School, Anna Schafer, Laura Darden, and Ebony Styles completed a 40 hour Orton Gillingham training, strengthening their expertise in providing systematic, sequential phonics instruction through the specialized Orton Gillingham approach to literacy.
In the Middle School, 8th Grade English teacher Ben Martinsen attended the SAIS Conference for New Teachers in Charlotte, returning with fresh ideas and excitement for the school year ahead.
In the Upper School, several faculty members participated in AP Readings, including John Adams, who served as a table leader at the AP U.S. History Reading in St. Louis.
These are just a few of the many ways our faculty have spent their summer preparing for another incredible school year.💚💙

The summer transformation continues! Step inside the new modular classrooms that will serve as classrooms for Upper School students while our classroom pods undergo renovations, and get a sneak peek at the former PEAK offices, which are being transformed into a brand-new classroom.
