Held annually, the ceremony includes the presentation of colors, guest speakers and an official ceremony for the graduates.

Ready to turn your hands-on construction experience into the next generation of skilled tradespeople? Apply now to become the Civil & Construction Trades Instructor at Whitley County Consolidated Schools. Applications close July 15, 2026.

The CTE instructor role places you at the intersection of industry and education, and gives you the chance to influence local workforce development. The role includes planning and delivering lessons, supervising student use of equipment, maintaining records, assigning and grading assignments, and collaborating with parents, staff, and our community.

All CTE Instructors report to the Principal at Columbia City High School. The Civil & Construction Trades Instructor teaches at the CTE Facility on Radio Road in conjunction with the CTE team and the Director of CTE.

Congratulations to our high school students who achieved perfect attendance for the entire school year!

Fourteen students earned certificates recognizing this outstanding accomplishment, and seven students were randomly selected to receive special prizes. We are so proud of their dedication, consistency, and commitment to showing up every day.

During our Annual Internship Showcase and Industry Signing Day, students shared their internship experience projects and 24 students signed to further their experience this summer or gain full-time employment.

Each year, our seniors who complete a pathway intern in our community so they can apply their classroom knowledge to a real-world experience. It's a win-win for our local businesses and our students.

The Precision Agriculture took a scavenger hunt to new heights!

Mr. Campbell's students flew their drone through the south campus, following all FAA guidelines, to complete a scavenger hunt to test their flying skills.

"The end goal is to prepare students to earn their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) license. Drones can be used for more than agriculture; some of my licensed students are using drones for their farm operations but others are helping insurance companies for home and roof checks, aiding real estate agents, or capturing imagery. How they use their license is up to them," said Skylar Campbell, CCHS Agriculture Teacher.

In its fourth year, the precision agriculture class explores new technologies and innovative practices in the industry.

"I was planning to get my pilot's license, so I explored this, too. I earned my drone license and am using my classroom in real-life application already," said Tyler Hoskins, licensed drone pilot and sophomore from Columbia City High School Eagle Tech Academy.

Today was “Try It Tuesday – Breakfast Edition” at all 6 schools, featuring a brand-new Breakfast Egg Roll — and it was a HUGE hit! 🎉🍳🥢

Our staff received multiple requests to add this item to next year’s menu, and students made their opinions clear! Junior Ben Strack shared, “They gave out sample egg rolls — best breakfast ever! Everyone else agrees!”

We heard you loud and clear, and we’re excited to bring them back next year — along with some additional new menu items! 👏

CCHS's ASL 3 classes were recently able to attend an Escape Room as a fun way to celebrate the hard work they have put into the past three years of class. Students challenged themselves to escape within one hour without using their voices, relying completely on their signing skills and teamwork. Four out of the six groups successfully escaped!

We would like to thank our sponsors for helping make this experience possible. Thanks to their generous donations, 40 students were able to attend the trip.
