Students from Mrs. Mason's English 11 class took a trip to Locked Up Fort Wayne today to try their hand at escape rooms. We even had a group set an ETA record - the first group to escape with over 20 minutes left on the clock!! Next, the students will work to create their own "table top" escape rooms, compelte with three puzzles participants will have to solve and unlock. The puzzles and rooms will be based on the dystopian novels we've been reading. Huge thank you to Locked Up Fort Wayne for their continued partnership and flexibility.

Our Dual Credit Biology class had a multi-faceted, hands-on lab experience on Friday! During the morning they partnered with Dr. Alyssa Willson from the University of West Virginia to learn about ecological forecasting and water quality, and try their hand at utilizing the skills they learned through some real-world, virtual scenarios. Then in the afternoon they visited Chain o’ Lakes State Park to try out some real water quality testing, putting their learning into action!

Congratulations, Allison!

Congratulations to Allison Parker!! She has earned her Indiana Cosmetology license! To accomplish this achievement, Allison passed a written exam as well as a practical exam after earning 1500 hours at Creations Beauty School.

This opportunity is available through a partnership between CCHS and Creations Beauty School.

Today, students in English 11 participated in a "Card Sort" activity using quotes they chose from their dystopian novels. The goal was to understand common thematic elements in the dystopian genre as well as hear about each other's novels.

On Wednesday, December 17 from 5pm-6pm, Eagle Tech Academy seniors in the ETA Senior Impact course will hold their student showcase in the lower ETA commons. Students will be dressed to impress and ready to present over 45 student driven passion projects - but they need an audience!

Parents, community partners, and community members are invited to attend and hear about the work these students have done this semester developing and executing their passion projects with the goal of "exploring something meaningful, creating something real, and sharing it with others in a way that matters". The gallery walk is "open house style" so come and go as you please between 5-6pm. Enter through Door #8 at Columbia City High School - The ETA entrance.

On Friday we had some friendly fun with several rounds of dodgeball. Duncan Royale came out the victors adding more points to their lead in our Advisory House competition.
