It is with great sadness that Wright Aviation announces the passing of our long time instructor, Joe Edward Birkinbine of Steamboat Springs CO. He lost a long battle with cancer earlier this month. Joe was passionate about teaching and helping pilots bridge the gap into high performance aircraft by developing professional-level decision making skills. He will be dearly missed. Joe leaves behind his wife Betsy and his two adult sons Grant and Brooks. Joe worked for Wright Aviation for 14 years and taught in our programs for King Airs, Pilatus, TBMs, Meridians, and Cessna twins. When not teaching for us, his other flying included charter flying in King Airs, Phenoms, and Citations at Wheels Up. We were a better flight school because of his dedication to his art of instructing with hundreds of our clients. Thank you Joe! ❤️
