Friends of the Equestrian Skills Course

Friends of the Equestrian Skills Course FESC is a non profit group dedicated to promoting safe trail use
for equestrians and all trail users. The course is open from dawn to dusk every day.

Friends of the Equestrian Skills Course (FESC) designs, builds, funds and maintains the Equestrian Skills Course in Bear Creek Regional Park. The Equestrian Skills Course is a dedicated portion of Bear Creek Regional Park where equestrians can develop and fine tune their riding and their horse's skills for trail riding. All obstacles are natural and adaptations of what you will find on Colorado Ro

cky Mountain trails. Each type of obstacle has three levels of difficulty labeled like a ski area (easy, intermediate and advanced), providing a one-of-a-kind course. A fun place for individuals, families and groups wanting something for every skill level. The course if free, but we ask for donations to support our continuing building and maintenance efforts. We also promote good trail etiquette and work toward improving trail relations among all trail user groups.

Another PSA for you!

Be Safe Out There Everyone!!

Grand County Water Information Network has reported visual presence of cyanobacteria, a plant-like organism that lives in water and can produce toxins that make people and animals sick, at Willow Creek Reservoir. There will be placements of caution signs in the area until further notice.

The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland continue to work with our local partners to ensure safe recreation for all.

ONE MISSION. TWO PROGRAMS. ONE INCREDIBLE TEACHER.

At first glance, these programs may look very different.

On one side, young people are learning communication, confidence, responsibility, problem solving, and leadership.

On the other, our Horses for Heroes program creates space for veterans to reconnect, build trust, find purpose, and experience the quiet power of working alongside a horse.

But at the center of both?

The horse.

Horses don’t care about your age, your title, your past, or what you think you’re supposed to be.

They respond to what’s real.

They ask us to slow down.
Pay attention.
Communicate clearly.
Regulate our energy.
Build trust instead of demanding it.

And somewhere in that process, the lesson stops being just about the horse.

It becomes about who we are becoming.

That’s the heart of the Mustang Ambassador Program.

Different generations. Different journeys. Different reasons for walking through our gates.
