One of our favorite traditions to bookend our year is the fifth graders cheering the K-4 students at the beginning of the year and then K-4 students clapping out our fifth grade students for their last day. We are excited for you, class of 2033! We will see the rest of our Mustangs back for in August for Back to School!

We continue our recognition of our annual award winners. Our Classified Employee of the year is Lily Vonderohe. Some things staff share about Lily: “Lily’s students face light up when she’s around,” “Lily always has a smile on her face which is contagious. She also has a gentle manner when working with students,” and “Lily has the biggest heart for ALL students and pours her heart into everything she does.” We are grateful to have had her here at Ranch Creek and wish her luck as she heads to her next adventure teaching high school Spanish!

Last week, we celebrated our Mustang Book List readers who have read at least 15 books from our Mustang Book List. Collectively, this group has read 357 books from our two lists! Students celebrated with snacks and prizes (including books, posters, and book marks). Students shared they loved the different books they have found on our list.

Last week, 4th and 5th graders of the Mustang Choir gathered to celebrate a great year of performance with a donut party. The choir also decorated delivery bags for Project Angel Heart, a local nonprofit that delivers high-quality nutrition and medically tailored meals to Coloradans living with severe illness. Project Angel Heart advocates for the principles of “Food is Medicine.”
