The Colorado Springs School is an independent day school in Colorado Springs offering PreK-12th grade.

Founded in 1962, The Colorado Springs School (CSS) makes learning fun while offering rigorous academic programs that instill independence, confidence and leadership skills in students PreKindergarten through grade 12. A CSS education extends far beyond traditional, passive learning environments to prepare students for a dynamic world. Beginning as early as PreK, CSS students are encouraged to acti

vely participate in their learning. Led by caring and skilled faculty, students benefit from unique hands-on discovery both in the classroom and beyond via outdoor adventures and Seminars held locally and worldwide. Small class sizes promote one-on-one connections and mentorship between teachers and students, so that – by the time they graduate – CSS alumni are ready to continue on to some of the most prestigious colleges nationwide, including Yale, MIT and Cornell University.

🧪 Science in action

Our ninth-grade Biology students put water’s surface tension to the test by adding soap, isopropyl alcohol, salt, and heat. As they observed changes in water’s cohesion—its ability to stick together—students discovered that each variable decreased surface tension.

The investigation sparked meaningful discussions and predictions about the effects of pollutants and rising temperatures on water systems and aquatic ecosystems. 🌎💧

It’s been an egg-cellent start to the week at The Colorado Springs School! 🥚🐔

Our resident hens laid five eggs, which students eagerly collected while our kindergarteners explored the sound and shape of the letter E. Hands-on learning, feathered friends, and a whole lot of excitement made for a memorable morning!

Our girls SWEPT the Hanover Volleyball Tournament this weekend, taking down 5 teams to claim the title! CSS has dominated this tournament two years in a row! 👑

Rain couldn’t dampen our fun at yesterday’s New Family Welcome! ☔️💦

We had an incredible time at our pool party at The Country Club of Colorado, where our school leadership and ambassador families helped welcome our newest Kodiaks to the community. From splashing in the pool to making new connections, it was the perfect way to kick off the school year excitement!

We can’t wait to see everyone on Thursday—only a few more days until the start of an amazing school year! 🐻💙
