Multistate operator Trulieve, one of the nation’s largest cannabis companies, announced on Friday that the company’s subordinate voting shares have been approved for uplisting to the New York Stock Exchange next week. The impending uplisting comes following the Trump administration’s recent reclassification of medical ma*****na under federal drug laws, the most significant change in federal cannabis policy in more than half a century.

A new federally funded study is challenging a longstanding stereotype about ma*****na munchies leading to obesity in lazy stoners—finding that whole extract cannabis is linked to both weight loss and reduced risk of diabetes.
Researchers at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine set out to investigate potential reasons behind a scientific paradox. That is, if cannabinoids such as THC stimulate appetite, why have multiple previous studies found that ma*****na users have healthier weights on average, as well as a lower risk of developing diabetes?

Budtenders play a crucial role in the cannabis industry, acting as the main link between products and consumers in a complex, tightly regulated market. Often regarded as the backbone of a successful dispensary, they do far more than sell products—they educate customers, ensure regulatory compliance, and represent brands with expertise and credibility. Budtenders are the ambassadors for the dispensary.
The Women’s Cannabis Chamber of Commerce is launching a monthly Budtenders’ Think Tank to open up conversations about the issues facing budtenders in the work place.
The Budtenders’ Think Tank is hosted by Angie Roullier and Addison Morris.
The goal is to build a strong national business community of women in the cannabis industry.

n the wake of medical cannabis’ official reclassification as a Schedule 3 drug under federal law on Thursday, licensed ma*****na companies are making big plans.
Operators told MJBizDaily they are prioritizing expansion across state lines, ramping up investments in research and development and preparing to comply with evolving federal safety and quality standards.
Businesses involved in cannabis research and science are seeking partnerships for clinical studies, while consumer-focused operators are developing strategies to meet anticipated federal regulations while also scaling.
Rescheduling means relief from Internal Revenue Code 280E, which forbids plant-touching businesses from making normal business deductions on their federal returns.
But with Schedule 3 only applying to medical cannabis operators for now, it’s not yet clear how this might affect the outstanding tax debt for major multistate operators that have both medical and adult-use retail outlets.
