☕🌲 Forest Chatter Coffee Club is officially serving on Monday! 🌲☕
We are so excited to launch FCC—a program that is about so much more than coffee! Our students in the SSN program play an important role in making Forest Chatter happen, and we couldn’t be prouder of the opportunities this program provides. 💚
FCC creates meaningful opportunities for our students to build confidence, strengthen their sense of belonging, and practice real-life skills in a fun and authentic school setting, including:
☕ Matching skills — matching personalized FCC mugs with the colored initials on lids
🧼 Independent living skills — learning to properly load and unload the dishwasher
📝 Reading & following orders — reading drink orders and making sure customers receive exactly what they ordered
💵 Money management — handling money, making change, and practicing basic financial concepts
💬 Communication & social skills — taking orders, practicing conversations, interacting with staff and students, and building confidence
🤝 Teamwork & responsibility — working together and taking ownership of different jobs within the Coffee Club
And our staff is truly the heart of this program! 💚 We are incredibly grateful for the staff members who work alongside our SSN students, encourage them, and turn everyday moments at FCC into mini money lessons, social opportunities, and valuable life-skill practice. The time you spend with our students truly makes a difference!
