Welcome Weekend has officially begun, and we’re so excited to see you!

As students and families make their way to the Prairie, we thought it was only fair to help you get to know the people waiting for you here.

Meet a few of our FVS faculty and staff and learn the really important stuff: their hidden talents, pet peeves, walk-up songs, preferred forms of bribery and, of course, the hills they’re willing to die on.

And yes, we fully expect some debate over grocery store sushi and pineapple on pizza.

We asked our faculty and staff some very serious back-to-school questions. Their answers have given us a lot to process.

So far we’ve learned:
Christmas > insects.
Costco on the weekend is a hard no.
Durian apparently smells amazing.
Bowling bumpers are for everyone.
And chocolate + peanut butter? We may need to have a community meeting about that one. 😂

Meet the people who make FVS, well… FVS!

As we head into a new school year, we’re getting to know our teachers and staff beyond the classroom. What do they love? What are their biggest pet peeves? What’s their walk-up song? And what might surprise you about them?

We’ll be sharing their answers all week long. Follow along to learn more than you ever wanted to know about the people behind FVS. 😄

ALL CLEAR AT FVS: Earlier today, campus briefly evacuated as local emergency crews responded to a small wildfire north of our back gate. Thanks to swift action by emergency personnel, the fire was quickly contained and the evacuation order has been lifted, and everyone is safe and sound.

We are back to business as usual on the Prairie and sending a huge thank you to Grey Matter Construction group, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, and local firefighters for their rapid response!

These Danes are just so chic!

The memories that stay with you long after graduation aren’t just made in the classroom.

They’re made during Senior Seminar at the Mountain Campus. At Club Frautschi. During Stupid Night Out. Around campfires, on stage, during late-night walks back to the dorms, and in those little moments that become lifelong stories.

Life on the Prairie has a way of turning classmates into lifelong friends. ❤️

As we wrap up our week celebrating the senior experience at FVS, here’s a look back at some of the traditions and memories that make the final year at FVS unforgettable.
