🎉 A historic day for Fountain Valley School.
Yesterday, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our new academic building and the beginning of something much larger: an investment in the next generation of students and the next 100 years of FVS.
Over the past two years, our community has worked with intention and optimism to advance the School’s Strategic Plan, Path to the Summit, and imagine a bold future for this remarkable institution. The result will be a new academic setting where students and faculty learn, collaborate, and grow together. A place designed not simply as an academic building, but as the heart of our campus.
Featuring classrooms, laboratories, maker spaces, presentation areas, study nooks, a library, and the Center for the American West, this space will foster connection, discovery, and a deep sense of place for generations to come.
Today was also a celebration of what makes Fountain Valley so special: alumni, parents, faculty, students, and friends coming together in service of something larger than themselves.
Thank you to everyone whose vision, generosity, and belief in Fountain Valley helped make this milestone possible. The future is taking shape on the Prairie.

Lots of Reunion Weekend fun is happening over the next three days, but before the celebrations begin, we’re proud to recognize our final three 2026 Reunion award recipients. 🎉
Congratulations to Minnie Goodblanket ’98 on her induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame. A standout field hockey player at FVS, Minnie earned 1997 All-Colorado honors and built a reputation as one of the state’s most dynamic offensive players, later continuing her career at the NCAA Division I level at UMass Lowell.
We are also honored to present Diana Wilson Gray ’84 with the W. Jerome Frautschi ’49 Award, previously the Distinguished Casa Serena Award, in recognition of her leadership, philanthropy, and enduring commitment to service. From her work in agriculture and ranching to her advocacy for children in the foster care system, Diana’s life and career reflect the values of stewardship, creativity, and community that define Fountain Valley School.
Finally, we are proud to present Col. John McKay ’62 with an Honorary Diploma for his extraordinary life of military service, education, and mentorship. A decorated Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam and held leadership roles with NATO and the United Nations, Col. McKay has remained a dedicated supporter of FVS through his mentorship and engagement with students and alumni alike.
Join us in celebrating all of our awards winners throughout Reunion Weekend!
