Dear Environmental Science Educators,
NAAEE, BSCS Science Learning, and The FieldScope Project are conducting a national survey to better understand the current state of high school environmental science education — including what teachers teach, how instructional decisions are made, and what resources and support are most needed.
We invite you to participate if you are a high school teacher in the United States who teaches environmental science as a dedicated course or as part of a broader science class. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes.
Your responses will directly inform the development and dissemination of resources for environmental science educators nationwide. All responses are anonymous and results will be reported in aggregate.
Findings will be shared with the broader science education community through the NAAEE and BSCS Science Learning websites, as well as via email once the study is complete. Learn more about this survey on the NAAEE blog.
Take the Survey → https://www.research.net/r/EnviroHSsurvey
Know other high school science teachers? Please tag them or share the survey link with your networks — every response helps us better represent the environmental science teaching community.
Thank you for your time and for everything you do to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Thank you,

What if your students actually wanted to figure things out in biology class? 🔬
Not just memorize content—but wrestle with real questions like:
💡 Why are infections getting harder to treat?
💡 Why do some people have higher disease risk?
💡 How will we feed a growing population?
That’s exactly what you’ll experience in the upcoming BSCS Biology: Understanding for Life virtual institutes for Units 1-4.
Instead of sitting through another PD, you’ll:
-Learn as a student first (so you truly “get it”)
-Walk away with strategies that spark curiosity and deeper thinking
-Build confidence using real-world, phenomenon-driven lessons
-Connect with other teachers who want more than test-focused learning
No travel, live sessions, and even better with your team 👩🔬👨🔬

Too often, tools and curricula are built on assumptions about what teachers need. That’s why NAAEE is partnering with BSCS Science Learning and Fieldscope to survey high school environmental science teachers.
If this is you, please take this 15-minute survey to make sure teachers' voices shape the resources and support the field develops next: tinyurl.com/EnviroTeacherSurvey.
