Little hands hard at work!

Ripping paper helps build hand strength, coordination, and fine motor skills our pre-k kiddos will later use for writing, cutting, buttoning, zipping and more!

Even better, we’re using paper that was headed for the trash. We’re giving it a second life for fine motor practice, then saving the pieces for another project later this year.

Leaving AND reusing!

🌻 Curiosity is contagious!

After the hail damaged one of our sunflowers, we brought it inside for the kids to explore. One little learner started pulling it apart, examining all the pieces, and decided she wanted to draw what she saw and add the real sunflower pieces to her picture.

Before long, her curiosity sparked the rest of the class, and everyone wanted to join in! 💛

No planned lesson—just a sunflower, a curious mind, and some pretty amazing child-led learning. 🌻🔎✏️

🎟️ Fourth graders can get a free family pass to all National Parks for a year.

🗻The Every Kid Outdoors program gives fourth graders and their families free access to over 2,000 federal parks, lands, and waters for an entire year. The pass is offered every year to fourth graders in the United States. No matter where you live in the U.S., you’re within two hours of an included site. Every Kid Outdoors was created so fourth graders and their families could discover our wildlife, resources, and history for free. The program chose fourth graders because research shows that kids ages nine to 11 are beginning to learn about the world around them. They’re open to new ideas, and they are likely to connect to nature and our history.
