Persuading someone into an action that they would not have wanted to do otherwise is considered coercion and that can be a warning sign of an unhealthy relationship. Consent is needed for anything in a relationship and we should respect our partners choices when they tell us no. Speak up when you notice a friend being coerced and help the other to understand their reasoning for saying no.

Everyone gets jealous from time to time but having that grow into an all-consuming possession or suspicion about your partner is unhealthy. This red flag can be seen when someone’s partner does not allow them to have friends of certain groups, stray from their schedule, or maybe they must show their partner messages on their phone from time to time to see if they are cheating. All these behaviors are not healthy and can be damaging to them and the relationship.
If you know of someone who displays these behaviors say something by having a conversation with them. If you are not comfortable doing that on your own, contact the resources listed below for help.
