Our Mission
Textiles West aims to inspire widespread awareness, participation and appreciation of textile and fiber arts with an understanding of the impact of textiles on the planet.
We teach simple ways to reduce the toxic textile footprint in each of our lives. By providing access to skills and tools in our classroom and makerspace, we encourage action to create more eco-conscious lifestyles.
Through education at all levels, we thread tradition with technology, helping pass the mantle to future makers. We have a focus on sustainability and encourage our community to embrace an eco-friendly and sustainable practice.
We foster creative play that can bring people and communities together through meaningful hands on experiences; helping people connect despite their differences. We provide safe spaces for self-expression and bring about healing through the act of making, sharing, and belonging.
