The Four Types of Hypoxia:
Hypoxemic Hypoxia: Low partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) in the blood. Typically related to respiratory issues where the lungs can't adequately oxygenate the blood.
Stagnant Hypoxia: Due to poor blood flow.
Hypemic Hypoxia: Capacity to transport oxygen is impaired. Think anemia or carbon monoxide poisoning.
Histotoxic Hypoxia: The tissues are unable to utilize oxygen effectively, even if blood flow and oxygen levels are normal. This can be caused by certain poisons that interfere with the body's ability to use oxygen at the cellular level.
