Expecting a baby this spring or summer? We have a few more spots open for our January childbirth education session! This is a comprehensive childbirth, postpartum, newborn care and breastfeeding course that includes comfort measures, coping techniques, labor positions, interventions, advocacy, evidence-based information and much more! We love empowering and equipping parents to prepare them for their best birthing day possible.

Not your first baby? We have refresher class options too!

Classes are held Thursday evenings at Beginnings Birth Center. (You do not need to be giving birth at the birth center to take our course. This course is fantastic for hospital and home birth prep as well!)

This upcoming session begins on January 8th. Sessions run every six weeks.

What an INCREDIBLE weekend we had with Meredith and Alicia from Intentional Birth, as they led us in their Birth Advocacy Training!

These nurses and doulas are leaving empowered and ready to step into their full calling as patient advocates! We have big plans in the works!!

Just a quick reminder that the doors are closing to Intentional Birth’s two-day Advocacy Training to be held in Colorado Springs CO on June 13-14. We have a few spaces left!

Day 1:
-Board-certified patient advocates will teach us everything we need to know about perinatal patient advocacy
-A nurse panel will give us a look behind the curtains of hospital culture and policy
-We’ll dig deep into the concrete advocacy systems and tools that will give us real confidence, and our clients real results.

Day 2: Simulation day!
-We’ll engage in five sessions of scripted role plays, where you’ll get the chance to embody and practice all the tools you learned on day
one.
-This is a safe place to mess up, get feedback, try again, and transform into a phenomenal bridge-builder, facilitator, and
advocate.

Only 8 weeks until Intentional Birth’s Advocacy Training here in Colorado Springs at Black Forest’s 1C Barn! This is for you if: *You sometimes feel powerless in the hospital setting: you find yourself keeping quiet, fawning, or struggling for words. *You feel like a confident advocate, but your advocacy doesn’t go over well. *Providers warn their clients away from you because of a perception thatyou interfere with care. *Many times you have had a feeling that what you witnessed “wasn’t right”, but you don’t know the law or understand hospital policy, and it’s hard to tell when an intervention is really “needed”. *You want to prevent the need for birth room advocacy with solid prenatal advocacy. *You need the chance to practice birth room advocacy in a safe setting, and feel connected to a group of people who care about you because they are in the trenches with you. *You feel uncomfortable advocating while wearing your “doula” or “midwife” hat.
