Students took a trip to the El Paso County K9 Unit and SWAT Class!

They were able to try on some gear, meet the wildland crew, and meet Deputy Robley and her canine partner, Jack!🐾

Last night was our Let's Taco 'Bout Discovery Graduating Senior Night!
After an informative presentation from Dr. Wiggins, students and parents met with representatives from the military and our school yearbook coordinators. Information regarding graduation and Herff Jones caps and gowns was distributed.
Let's not forget about the delicious tacos!🌮🌮🌮

Last Thursday was the Ropes Challenge Course for Foundations students!

The students who made it past the Drop Dead Date went with their teachers and Ft. Carson activity leaders to Bear Creek Regional Park and Red Rocks Open Space for some rock climbing and team-building exercises. Check out these highlights!🌄

🚧Mrs. Myers' night school classroom is now a crime scene!🚧

The students entered the crime scene simulation, and each had a different role to play, including police officers, call center dispatchers, crime scene investigators, etc. Students from Mrs. Thomas' night school class, Broadcasting, were the reporters to gather information on the crime scene from the detectives.

In Mrs. Shock's Algebra class, students are learning about slopes and y-intercepts! She took her students outside for a 3D simulation on the stairs, with a graph grid drawn in chalk.

The last day of the hexter is approaching! That means it's time for Phoenix Day. 🔥

For hexter 1, we are taking our school to Coors Field in Denver for the Rockies vs. Padres game!⚾⚾

The tickets are $20, and Mrs. Flores needs your permission slips ASAP!‼️

Discovery went paddleboarding for outdoor education this weekend!🏄‍♀️
Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Flores took students to Prospect Lake at Memorial Park for a day on the lake.🌊
Students learned about water safety and the origins of paddleboarding.
We ended the day with Jersey Mike subs, hand-delivered by our awesome principal, Dr. Wiggins!🤩
