We will be having our Safety Town event for kindergarten and 1st graders on Friday, September 18th. This is such a fun and educational event for our students. If you wish to volunteer, please let us know! We greatly appreciate any assistance that day.

Hello King Elementary families!
My name is Neesa Towles, and I am so excited to be joining the King Elementary family as your school counselor.
My journey to Colorado Springs has been a unique one. I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and spent my childhood growing up in Croatia and Germany before my family came to the United States as refugees when I was 18 years old. We settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I graduated from high school and went on to earn both my bachelor's and master's degrees.
After meeting my husband, we moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida, where we spent the next 11 years building our lives together. We bought our first homes, got married, welcomed our daughter, Imani, and I had the privilege of working as a school counselor. This fall, Imani will be starting first grade here at King Elementary, which makes joining this community even more special for our family.
In the winter of 2023, we vacationed in Colorado Springs and completely fell in love with the beauty of the mountains, the welcoming community, and everything this incredible city has to offer. We knew this was where we wanted to put down roots. Since making the move, we truly feel it has been one of the greatest blessings for our family.
I feel incredibly grateful to be part of the King Elementary community. I look forward to getting to know our students and families and helping every child grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. My goal is to help our students become confident, kind, resilient, and compassionate members of our school and community.
I can't wait to meet all of you and begin this exciting journey together!
