Have you always wanted to learn to play the piano or to sing beautifully, but you think your chance has passed? 🤔

20 years ago, in 2006, a Gallup poll revealed that 82% of American adults wished they had previously learned to play an instrument, and 67% of American adults had an interest in learning to play an instrument in the future. Despite that fact, the number of adults enrolling in music education lessons has remained stable since then, meaning very few of the individuals who participated in the 2006 poll actually achieved their aspiration. 💔

If you've always wanted to learn an instrument, but you think you're too old, we're here to tell you that isn't the case! While most of our students are children, we have worked with many adults in our piano and voice programs, and there is no maximum age for learning a new skill. It's Bagpipe Appreciation Day! 🎊

Most people do not appreciate bagpipes -- today or any other day -- but we appreciate all instruments!

Bagpipes are among the oldest instruments still used today. We have records of their existence dating back to 1000 BCE, and they may have been used for centuries before that. Today, people associate bagpipes with the Scottish Highlands, but they were originally invented in the Middle East, likely by sheepherders who could easily access the materials needed to create them. It's amazing to think that when we hear the keening of bagpipes, we are hearing the same sounds as those who lived 3,000 years ago. Music connects us all! 🎶

Today's obscure holiday is 𝗜 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 🐎

We'd like to take a moment to celebrate our favorite horse in the world, Coco! 🐴 Coco is a fan-favorite among our 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 & 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 students. He's a magnificent dancer, and he plays a mean sleigh bell, too. We didn't see much of Coco this summer (he was on vacation at a dude ranch 🤠), but he'll be returning for our Fall session next month!
