"Winter" - Marissa Meyer ( #4 Lunar Chronicles) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Pros: complex characters, realistically dumb choices by realistically done characters, alllll the emotions and actions. Beautifully, not jumbled transitions between ALL the characters
Cons: some characters I liked and others I didn't. I didn't really like Winter's character all that much but it added to the story in an interesting way. I didn't really like her guard at all. There was ONE animal death and I'm still salty about it.
This book will not leave you bored. The story is complex and amazing, with realistic goals and choices. I still think Cinder is too young. I think the ending was incredible and well rounded, still keeping to the classic stories but in the futuristic world. Great detailing across the book describing the worlds, the port screens, etc. I ask that you don't stop at the second book. The series does get better after the second book. Not to say the second book isn't good. I adore this series. And highly recommend it. For these reasons, it's a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars. For this book and the series in total

"Cress" ( #3 book in Lunar Chronicles)- Marissa Meyer ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros: action-packed, Surprise Elements, Realistic
Cons: it's a little overcrowded and the book doesn't give you a break before the next action-filled scene. So it's a bit suffocating.
I'm really loving this series, so far it's like fantasy mixed with sci-fi with added drama. There's spacecrafts and it all takes place in the future, such an interesting world. The character in this book acts exactly like a person that was kept prison for eight years WOULD act. However, it's all go, go, go, go. It's like they never stop moving, it's like one solid line. And the only break you get is when you put down the book. Sometimes this can absolutely be a good thing but other times, you want those stand-still moments. For these reasons I rate this a 4/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars. Still recommend this series.

"Scarlet" - Marissa Meyer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (book #2 in the Lunar Chronicles)
Pros: almost impossible to put down, so much depth to the plot and characters, great military strategies, and for once, the teenage MC actually acted like her age. Both a blessing and a curse. The action was incredibly detailed and my emotions ran high.
Cons: didn't really like the "Mate" bit but it was still different than what's usually out there, the plot is slightly confusing but that's what makes the book impossible to put down.
I underestimated this series from the first book (Cinder #1) I had. This book was better and with more action, more decisions than the last. I was surprised the MC did act like a stubborn teenager - it made the book feel more realistic, and their opponents are quite smart. I will be continuing this series. For these reasons, it's a series I am starting to highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars

Cinder - Marissa Meyer ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros: it's another good dark twist on a classic tale. The character was actually pretty smart (minus one dumb move), the book sparked a lot of emotions as I read it. A very compelling plot that doesn't seem to stop and it was pretty unpredictable.
Cons: it's still a teenager- acting- like- adult thing, being way too mature given her age. A few other characters were teenagers who took on a too big responsibility.
It's not everyday that a book manages to get one over on me. This happened twice in this book. I thought I could predict some of the Mcs actions which would fit the line of "teenager". I was wrong. I was surprisingly wrong. It's not quite like what I've read before. Definitely got me turning pages and I almost read the whole book in one day. It's interesting and intriguing. For these reasons, it's a 4/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"The Spirit Lens" - Carol Berg ⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
Pros: interesting and compelling characters, great murder plot and schemes, love the magic and the history with the Blood Wars
Cons: very wordy, very confusing, extremely difficult to keep the plot straight, I had to read several passages over again to try and make sense of it. One of the magical items they have - I'm still confused about what it does and how it relates to the plot. I only have a basic understanding of the plot from what I read, which unfortunately wasn't enough to let me finish the book.
I only read it so far because the characters were all great and I wanted to see this mystery through. They use so many words to describe one thing, it's a bit exhausting to read. This book is right up my interests which got me reading. However the way the author tried working with this plot, it was very much all over the place. I hope to try and give this book another go at a later date. So based off these reasons it's a ⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for me.

The Great Gatsby- F. Scott Fitzgerald ⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
Pros: interesting characters with different personalities like they were real people. Very thought-provoking. The theme was charming. A very subtle lesson is taught here if you squint. Maybe two if you're trying to like this book. Like I said, it's thought provoking. It's definitely simple while being elegant
Cons: stretched-out sentences, very wordy. Not much of a plot besides a rich man wanting a married woman, and most of the characters believed in rumors. The book is exactly that, the plot going around rumours. Definitely a Bridgetton feel if that's your thing. There's a lot of adultery going on, almost every character is cheating minus Gatsby and the narrator.
The book was a bit flat for the most part, the author jumps around the characters a bit. Towards the end is where you almost start understanding things. It was a bit of an effort to read the book through because of all the "he-said-she-said" bits. I do feel sorry for Gatsby l feel that he deserved more. And the narrator was basically third wheeling for the most part. It definitely has some interesting lessons but the way the book taught it was pretty flat. Honestly I think the book was just generally over hyped and because of that, I expected more. For these reasons, I give this a 3/5 stars.
