In a little over two weeks the garden has greened up and flowered at MSCS. Potatoes, greens, garlic, leeks, rhubarb and more! Today many different types of tomatoes were planted! There are still a few plants available for sale (not too many) - just contact Mr. Adam. I tried to take the photo today the same place as the photo 5/16 so you can compare!

Maybe as our garden grows we can have a bat box. Here is something fun for you!
Happy Friday! We've got another fun activity for you to try at home. This make your own bat mask is of the Sword-nosed bat (Lonchorhina aurita) from Central and South America.

Our 3 hens are keeping clean after feeling a little cooped up too. They are taking a dirt bath! Our chickens love to roll in the dirt to get rid of excess oil from their feathers and to kill parasites such as mites, fleas, and lice!
Winter has been practicing keeping clean too! Watch as she shakes out her paws to get rid of any dust or dirt before she cleans herself with them.

Our Ag Arts team planted more than 300 seeds last week--practicing social distancing, of course! We are so thankful to have a magical outdoor space where we can bring light and beauty to our community during these challenging times.
Mr. Adam, Ms. Shannon and Doña Anita were working in the garden - and visiting with the chickens . . .

Happy First Day of Spring! Mr. Adam and Ms. Griffin celebrated early yesterday by washing old pots that can hold more than 400 soon-to-be-planted seeds. Even while our students are out of school, we will continue to take care of our animals and plant veggies in preparation for their return.

Last week we had a big salad party with 2nd grade - they love picking, chopping and mixing all the ingredients for a fresh healthy salad. Then the eating - YUM! We miss you!
