After 2 years of planning and waiting, our new hydroponics unit is finally sitting in it's place. This is a self contained system and for the most part, runs on it's own. We received this from the proceeds of a grant from the state of Kansas. It's was built by a company in Pittsburg. They will train and help us operate it this coming school year. We plan to provide the school with all the needed leafy greens and other items on the salad bar. We hope to also start a small CTE business growing, packaging and selling salad mixes.
We've also been busy building our new greenhouse with proceeds from another grant received last year. This greenhouse is roughly twice the size of the old one with more up to date controls and features.
