Please apply a Firmwear update to your Shearwater Perdix 3. If you are looking to upgrade to the Peredix 3, we have them in stock and online on our website Www.tricityscuba.com

Shearwater Firmware V39 for Perdix 3 has just been released. This update improves air integration receiver performance, especially at very close range or when external noise present. It also fixes the units in the Edit Gases menu, along with some other minor fixes.

For more information, read the firmware release notes: shearwater.com/perdix-3-fw-v39

Looking for input on our 2027 Georgia Aquarium trip.

We are in the process of planning our annual Georgia Aquarium Trip for 2027.
Reservations for next year will open in about 2 months. At this time we are looking at August or possibly the fall time frame for our visit.

Age requirements: To Dive or Snorkel you must be 12. To spend the night in the Aquarium you must be 7. We can have up to 16 divers and 8 snorkelers. This trip is open to all, you do not need to dive or snorkel to enjoy visit. If you do not want to spend the night, you can stay at a nearby hotel.

We would like to look into renting a coach bus for the trip and are looking for possible recommendations if any of you have have a company recommendation or any that we should stay away from.

1. If you are interested in going in 2027, please let us know in the comments for estimation purposes.

2. We estimated that by taking the bus it would be about the same cost as gas, hotel for 1 night, and parking fees without the fatigue of driving 8-9 hours each way. Would you opt for bus travel if offered?

We had 15 travelers this year and the trip was so much fun and an amazing experience for all. Travel would be late on a Friday night, in time to arrive by 9am Saturday and we would leave Aquarium about 10am Sunday.

The 2026 trip details & prices is located on our website www.tricityscuba.com and pictures and videos are located in our Facebook album. Input from anyone interested is appreciative.

Independent Diving Class at Lake Phoenix August 24, 2026

Are you looking for a class that will teach you how to safely dive independently? Perhaps you dive in conditions where you cannot always see your dive buddy or where no dive buddy is available. Other times you may find yourself paired up with a diver less capable and you have to rely on your skills to get you out of trouble should it arise. The SSI Independent Diver Course does just that. It is an excellent course that will teach you self-rescue skills as well as go over critical information should you find yourself having to dive alone.

In this program, you will learn the skills you need to safely and confidently dive independent of a dive buddy. You will be taught how to rig, carry and use specialized equipment such as pony bottles and stage cylinders. By developing your skills, you will become a confident with your ability as a diver and be able to assist yourself as well as others of the need arises. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Independent Diver specialty certification.
Requirements are listed on our website and you can register on there as well:

We want to give Olivia a big congrats today for completing her Open Water Certification! She had to stop her Open Water training at the beginning of July due to an ear infection, she did such a great job telling us her ears were hurting. Mom Vanessa took her right to the doctor and her ears were allowed to heal. She came back yesterday and completed all of her dives today. She also tried the Doc's vented Proplugs and that worked for her as well. Thank you to her mom Vanessa & dad Lukas for being so supportive.
