We are so excited to officially begin the journey toward our 2026-2027 Competition Season! As we look forward to another year of growth, community, and dance, we wanted to share a few key details to help you prepare.
1. A Team for Everyone
The Arbor Dance Studio Competition Team is not audition-based. Filling out the Competition Form and returning it with a parent signature secures your dancer’s spot on the team. The placement classes held in June are designed to help our instructors determine appropriate technique levels and form the best possible groupings for our routines—not to determine whether a dancer "made" the team.
2. See the Team in Action
If you are interested in joining but want to see what the competition experience is like, we encourage you to attend our Competition Showcase on May 23 at 5:00 PM, following our Spring Recital at the Mary Glass Performing Arts Center (Owasso HS). This is a wonderful way to see the results of our dancers' hard work. We are always happy to answer any questions regarding the time and financial commitments involved in joining our company family.
3. Submission & Requests
Completed forms must be turned in by May 26, 2026, which is one week prior to our placement classes. While the form includes space for you to list style preferences and song suggestions, please understand that final decisions may differ from requests to ensure the best artistic vision and dynamics for the entire team. We appreciate your trust as we form groups that set every dancer up for success!
4. Scheduling & Conflicts
On the back of the form, please be very thorough in listing all known conflicts for placement classes, our choreography weeks (July 20 – August 8) and your anticipated fall schedule. While we work tirelessly to accommodate everyone’s busy lives, please keep in mind that with many families to consider, some conflicts may be unavoidable. We will do our absolute best for you!
5. Looking Ahead We are absolutely thrilled to welcome both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and the trust you place in Arbor Dance Studio!
