Farm Hippie began as one of Oklahoma's first indoor farmers markets, and seven years later, that mission is still at the heart of what we do: creating a year-round home for local.

Oklahoma grown. Oklahoma made. All under one roof.

🧡 SEVEN YEARS OF LOCAL: FOUR MORE BUSINESSES WE LOVE!

Seven years of Farm Hippie means seven years of shelves filled with things you simply aren't going to find everywhere else.

Today's four vendors might be one of our most wonderfully random combinations yet: locally raised meat, Oklahoma-inspired candles, old-fashioned soap, and cookies almost too cute to eat. Almost. 😂

🐔 Katy Poultry is the kind of vendor that takes "know where your food comes from" and makes it literal. Their freezer is stocked with locally raised chicken, pork, lamb and beef—from whole chickens and roasts to sausage, ground meats and individual cuts. It's real food raised close to home, and exactly the kind of connection between farmer and customer we wanted Farm Hippie to help create from the very beginning.

🕯️ Charley Jean Candle Co. makes all-natural soy candles and home fragrance products handcrafted in Broken Arrow. And the names alone make us happy: Oklahoma Breeze, Tornado Watch, Sunday Garden, Seaside Volcano... because apparently even our candles need a little Oklahoma personality. 😂 You'll also find their liquid hand soaps and other home fragrance goodies on our shelves.

🧼 Grandma's Lye Soap is proof that sometimes Grandma really did know best. Their old-fashioned soaps are made for some very modern problems—from Grime Away for stubborn kitchen odors on your hands to their Poison Ivy & Oak Bar. No fancy trends required here. Just practical products built around the kind of traditional soapmaking that's been around for generations.

🍪 Waving Wheat Cookie Co. makes the sort of cookies that cause an immediate "OH MY GOSH, LOOK AT THESE." Their decorated sugar cookies change with the seasons, holidays and occasions, and somehow manage to be ridiculously cute while still being completely edible. The pencil cookies in Collinsville may be one of our favorite back-to-school arrivals yet.

This is what makes seven years of Farm Hippie so fun to look back on.

A farmer doesn't have to open a grocery store. A candlemaker doesn't need an entire gift shop. A soapmaker doesn't need their own storefront. A baker doesn't need a bakery.

They just need a little bit of space—and a community willing to choose them.

We're pretty proud that for seven years, we've gotten to be some of that space. ❤️

🌱 So You Want to Be a Farm Hippie Vendor...

With traditional farmers market season beginning to wind down, something happens around Farm Hippie like clockwork:

Vendor applications start rolling in. 💚

Farmers, bakers, growers, makers and producers begin looking for a year-round home for their products—and we LOVE this time of year.

So we thought this was the perfect time to pull back the curtain a little on how becoming a Farm Hippie vendor actually works.

Because we have a confession:

We know we've accidentally hurt some feelings along the way. And we're sorry. 😬

As Farm Hippie has grown, so has the number of incredible Oklahoma producers wanting to join us. If we had unlimited walls, coolers, freezers and floor space, we'd probably just keep adding shelves until we reached Kansas.

Unfortunately, our buildings—and possibly the fire marshal—have other plans. 😂

The reality is that we have limited space, we cap similar products so the vendors already here have a fair opportunity to succeed, and some categories have a waitlist a country mile long.

But being waitlisted doesn't mean we don't want you.

Our application process is intentionally organized and calendared. Applications are reviewed regularly by our management team, but submitting one doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a phone call the next day.

Sometimes there's an opening right now.
Sometimes your application waits for our next review. Sometimes we absolutely love what you do, but your category is currently full.

And sometimes, a few months later, the PERFECT little spot opens up and we go digging back through our applications looking for exactly what you make.

That's why we don't toss good applications just because we can't accommodate them today.

We also prioritize what our stores need most. Farm-fresh vegetables and value-added foods are always high on our wish list, while categories like sourdough, skincare and jewelry tend to have some of our longest waits simply because so many talented people make them.

And occasionally we have to be the boring grown-ups. Licensing, labeling, food-safety requirements and other regulations aren't things we can bend, even when we really, really like you and your products.

We promise we're not trying to crush anybody's Farm Hippie dreams. 😂

We're simply trying to build marketplaces where our customers have a wonderful variety to shop and the vendors we bring in actually have room to succeed.

So, producers...PLEASE keep applying.

And if you know someone amazing who should be on our shkeves, send us your farmer friends. Send us your baker friends. Send us the person making something fantastic in their kitchen, growing something incredible in their field, or creating something Oklahoma needs to know about.

We want to meet them.

Just warn them that sometimes our answer is YES!, sometimes it's not quite yet, and sometimes their application may hang out with us awhile waiting for its moment.

And to everyone we've ever accidentally made think we ghosted them...

We're sorry. We weren't ghosting you. We were probably just out of shelf space. 😂💚

🧡 SEVEN YEARS OF LOCAL: FOUR MORE BUSINESSES WE LOVE!

One of our favorite things about Farm Hippie has always been that there really isn't one definition of "local."

Local can mean something raised on a farm, baked in a kitchen, formulated from herbs, or dreamed up at a craft table. It can be practical, beautiful, delicious, useful, weird, wonderful—or sometimes all of those things at once.

Today's four businesses are a pretty fantastic example of exactly that.

🐑 The Shepherd's Gold LLC brings us products made with lanolin from sheep's wool, turning something incredibly traditional into beautiful, useful skincare. Their lineup of balms and creams is one of those wonderful reminders that some of the best ingredients aren't new inventions at all. Sometimes we're simply rediscovering what generations before us already knew—and putting it into a jar.

✨ BlackBerry Creek Designs brings the FUN. From sparkly badge reels and accessories to colorful creations with enough personality to make an ordinary workday considerably less boring, these are the little things you don't necessarily walk into Farm Hippie planning to buy...and then suddenly you're standing at the register with one. 😂 We fully support accessorizing your ID badge and making your car smell nice with a car freshie

🧁 Confections by Caroline has made it her mission to prove that gluten-free doesn't have to mean missing out. Cookies, muffins, sweet treats and even gluten-free, dairy-free POPTARTS live on her shelves—and yes, we absolutely felt that last one deserved capital letters. Caroline has built a loyal following by making the kinds of baked goods people with dietary restrictions are so often told they simply have to go without. Around here, we'd much rather give them dessert. ❤️

🌿 The Spicy Italian Herbalism & Apothecary is one of those vendors whose products make you stop and start reading labels. Herbal preparations, infused oils, body care, Tattoo Goo and a whole lot of knowledge go into a line that feels equal parts old-world apothecary and modern maker. Jalapeño-infused olive oil? Yep. Tattoo care? Also yep. This is exactly the kind of wonderfully unexpected range that makes shopping local so much more interesting than walking another big-box aisle.

And that's something we've thought about a lot during our seventh anniversary.

When you shop a small business, you're rarely just buying "a product." You're buying the result of somebody learning a skill, testing a recipe, raising an animal, perfecting a formula, ruining a batch, trying again, buying supplies, designing a label, staying up too late and eventually putting something they made into the world with their name attached to it.

Then somehow, all those individual stories end up together on our shelves.

That's Farm Hippie.

Today we're celebrating The Shepherd's Gold LLC, BlackBerry Creek Designs, Confections by Caroline and The Spicy Italian Herbalism & Apothecary—and we're awfully glad they're part of our story.

Seven years of local, and we still get excited every time somebody brings something through our doors that makes us say, "Okay, THAT is cool." ❤️

🧡 SEVEN YEARS OF LOCAL: FOUR MORE BUSINESSES WE LOVE!

Seven years of Farm Hippie means seven years of watching little ideas become businesses, businesses become familiar names, and locally made products become things our customers come back looking for week after week.

It also means we've somehow created stores where you can walk in for eggs, discover a seasoning you didn't know existed, buy a piece of art smaller than your palm, and leave smelling considerably better than when you arrived. 😂

And frankly, we wouldn't have it any other way.

As our anniversary celebration continues, we're introducing four more of the Oklahoma businesses that make Farm Hippie what it is.

🥚 Waddle and Cluck brings one of the simplest—and most loved—local staples to our stores: fresh eggs! There's something pretty special about knowing your grocery money can travel right back to the people raising the chickens, tending the flock and doing the work behind the food on your family's table. Farm-to-table doesn't have to be fancy. Sometimes it comes in a carton. ❤️

🎨 Chantastic Art Co. proves that great art doesn't require a great big canvas. Their wonderfully tiny creations pack an absurd amount of personality into a few square inches, with miniature framed pieces, magnets, easel art and Oklahoma-inspired designs that practically demand you lean in for a closer look. They're quirky, clever, ridiculously giftable and exactly the kind of unexpected treasure we love hiding among our shelves.

🌶️ Papa Craig's Spice Blends has apparently never met a food that couldn't benefit from its own seasoning—and WE SUPPORT THIS PHILOSOPHY. 😂 Their lineup is downright impressive, covering everything from everyday kitchen staples to barbecue, burgers, seafood, fajitas, tacos, ranch, Cajun flavors and blends we didn't even know our pantry needed until Papa Craig made them. If you've ever stood in front of their display trying to choose just one, you already know the struggle.

🐝 Bee Farmee Botanicals has been part of this story from the very beginning. Long before there were three Farm Hippie storefronts, hundreds of vendors and seven anniversaries to celebrate, there were handcrafted botanical products being made with purpose—and an idea that locally made goods deserved a place to be discovered. From lotion bars and body care to the little bee that eventually helped inspire something much bigger, Bee Farmee is woven pretty tightly into the Farm Hippie story. ❤️

That's the really beautiful part of looking around our stores after seven years. Every shelf tells somebody's story. A farmer raised it. A baker baked it. An artist imagined it. A maker formulated it. A small business owner took a chance on it.

And then YOU bought it.

That's how local businesses grow.

We’re welcoming a brand-new vendor to Farm Hippie Bartlesville, and this one comes with a pretty adorable sidekick. ❤️

Meet Carla Pugh, the children’s book author behind Barkley the Brave Puppy! Carla has spent more than 25 years in education, and her love for sharing Barkley’s story has now grown into the Barkley the Brave™ Decorative Dog Collection.

Because apparently our pups deserve a good outfit, too. 🐶

You’ll find colorful, boutique-inspired dog accessories including wide decorative leashes for $15 and matching sets for $48 featuring a coordinating collar, leash AND treat bag. With everything from bright, playful colors to classic patterns and neutrals, there’s something for sweet pups, sassy pups and the ones who know darn well they’re the best-dressed dog in the room.

FOUNDING VENDOR SPOTLIGHT 💚
Bee Farmee Botanicals

Okay, this one feels a little funny to write. 😂

We've spent our anniversary month celebrating the founding vendors who took a chance on Farm Hippie from the very beginning, way back in 2019, and technically... we have one more.

Bee Farmee.

For anyone who doesn't know the connection, Bee Farmee Botanicals is Farm Hippie's sister company, and its story actually began before Farm Hippie's did.

So while it feels a little strange to include our own business in our Founding Vendor celebration, we really can't tell the story of how Farm Hippie began without telling this part of it, too.

Before there was Farm Hippie, we were already part of the local maker world through Bee Farmee. We were doing markets, meeting other small business owners, and learning firsthand what it meant to create something and then figure out how in the world to get it in front of the people who might love it.

And along the way, we met some incredible people.

Farmers. Bakers. Growers. Makers. Artists. People building businesses from kitchens, workshops, gardens and farms. People hauling everything they made to markets, setting up, tearing down, trying again the next weekend, and doing everything they could to turn something they loved into something sustainable.

Those people became our inspiration.

We began to see just how much talent existed in our own communities—and how difficult it could be for those businesses to have consistent, year-round access to customers.

That's where the idea for Farm Hippie began to take shape.

When we opened Farm Hippie, we weren't outsiders trying to figure out what local producers needed. We were already standing beside them. Bee Farmee gave us a place in that world, and the people we met there helped inspire us to create something different: a permanent, year-round home where small businesses could come together under one roof.

In many ways, Bee Farmee gave us the maker's perspective, but our fellow vendors gave us the vision for Farm Hippie.

Seven years later, Bee Farmee is still here. Still making. Still experimenting. Still learning. And yes, still occasionally making us question why on earth running TWO businesses seemed like a reasonable idea. 😂

But having Bee Farmee has also kept us connected to the vendor side of Farm Hippie. We know what it feels like to create something, put it on a shelf and hope someone chooses it. We know the excitement when something sells well and the disappointment when something doesn't.

So we're not going to write ourselves one of the big mushy thank-you paragraphs we've been writing for our other founding vendors. That would be weird. 😂

But Bee Farmee deserves its little place in this story.

Because before Farm Hippie had shelves full of local businesses, we were one of those local businesses.

And the people standing beside us helped inspire what Farm Hippie would become.

Seven years later, we're incredibly grateful that we still get to stand beside them. 🐝💚
