🎹🎷 **What can you do with music when you learn to play?**

Sometimes, learning an instrument becomes more than just learning notes on a page.

This past Sunday night, I had the opportunity to play a piano accompaniment I wrote for “Trust and Obey” while my mom joined me on saxophone.

I love creating arrangements that allow different instruments to work together and bring a familiar song to life in a new way.

That’s one of the things I love about teaching music: You’re not just learning how to play an instrument. You’re learning how to make music!

And eventually, you get to take what you've learned and create something of your own. 🎶

🇺🇸 Happy America 250! 🇺🇸

This past Sunday evening, Melody and I had the privilege of performing a special arrangement of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Victory Bible Baptist Church as we celebrated Independence Day and our nation’s 250th anniversary.

This arrangement began with Sergei Rachmaninoff’s beautiful piano arrangement of our National Anthem, which I adapted into a piano and violin duet. It was a joy to combine our instruments and share this piece with our church family and community.

Music has an incredible way of bringing people together, telling stories, and creating meaningful moments. We are grateful for every opportunity to share the gift of music with others!
