DID YOU KNOW?
The “Last Great Powwow Before Statehood.” Held over 5 days in the town of Collinsville, welcomed tribes from across Indian and Oklahoma territories and along with dignitaries of many tribes, including Cherokee Nation. The event was held October 14-19, 1907. In 2027, it will mark 120 years since this great event.

Just weeks later on November 16th, 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th U.S. State.

The gathering’s most famous guest was Geronimo. The Apache leader was 78 years old and had been a prisoner of the U.S. for two decades. Permitted temporary leave from Fort Sill to attend the gathering, he addressed the crowd through an interpreter.

Join us Thursday, October 15, for a fun night at Admiral Twin as we watch How to Train Your Dragon in the Cherokee language! ❤️ Plus these animated short films in the Cherokee language:

Redman and Uktena
Birds and Animals Ballgame

This event is free and open to the public. Bring your family and friends and enjoy this special opportunity to experience a movie in Cherokee. Seating is first come, first served, so be sure to arrive early! We hope to see you there!

Great Bead Class with Amy Patton. We had a good sign up so we had to make a second class that filled up in 2 hours.

Look for more classes each month doing a variety from beading to baskets to designing Shaws etc.
