Class of 2041 has officially begun their St. George’s journey!

Our PK Gryphons celebrated their very first Chapel, surrounded by parents and family, for a beloved Episcopal tradition known as the Blessing of the Bags.

During the service, each student received their very own embroidered tote bag, a tradition that has welcomed generations of St. George’s students as they begin their journey with us, one they’ll carry with them year after year.

Together, they sang “This Little Light of Mine,” a gentle reminder to let their light shine bright, today and always.

Welcome to St. George’s, Class of 2041! We can’t wait to watch you grow.

Alumni Spotlight: Anna Grace Green ‘16

We are so proud of Anna Grace Green ‘16, co-founder and creative director of The Croft Show, founded alongside her father, Tom Green III.

Anna Grace helped bring together 90+ vendors from across the country for this incredible Western-inspired shopping and lifestyle event at Mallard’s Croft.

St. George’s alumni are showing up in a big way, with several even running their own booths.

The Croft Show is happening this weekend, August 20-23, at Mallard’s Croft in Byhalia, MS. It’s just a short drive from Memphis, so come shop, support our alumni vendors, and cheer on Anna Grace in person.

Many of the artists you’ll meet at The Croft Show will also be featured at the 2026 Wolf River Art Show, November 13-15, so consider this weekend a sneak peek.

There’s nothing like seeing our Gryphons out in the world doing amazing things. Once a Gryphon, always a Gryphon.

Thirty-eight years ago, on her honeymoon, Chaplain Carrie Carpenter jumped out of a sailboat in a storm and swam it back to shore herself.

She still thinks of that story every time she reads the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus sends the disciples out across the Sea of Galilee. A storm rises. Peter steps out of the boat in faith, falters, and begins to sink. Jesus reaches out and catches him. Not alone. Never alone.

That was the message Mrs. Carpenter carried to our Collierville campus, in her first Opening Convocation as St. George’s chaplain.

Her charge to students: step out of the boat this year. Take the risk. And when you start to sink, remember whose hands are reaching for yours.

At our Germantown campus, two students took to the lectern for their Fifth Grade Speech, a St. George’s tradition where every fifth grader speaks in chapel at some point during the year, with two chosen each fall to open the school year.

Juniper told the story of a burnt dinner and a family laughing together in the garage instead of getting upset, a reminder that laughing with someone is a gift.

Liam told the story of a grandfather who taught him that showing up, day after day, is what changes a life.

Two campuses, one theme, carried by a chaplain’s honesty and two fifth graders brave enough to stand up and speak. This year, we give thanks for the lives we share.
