The Class of 2030 is Stepping Up to the upper school!

Recently, we celebrated each eighth grader as they completed their time in the middle school. This year’s ceremony included awards recognizing academic achievement, athletics, the arts, and character.

Students also took a moment to share what their time in the middle school meant to them, and it was a reminder of just how much grows in these three years.

The class presented the Apple Award, voted on by students and given to a middle school teacher who made a difference in their time in the middle school. This year, that honor went to English teacher Mrs. Mandi Hill. Congratulations, Mrs. Hill.

The ceremony closed with incoming student body president Ionna-Success Wilkerson ‘27 welcoming the Class of 2030 to the upper school.

Congratulations to our newest upper schoolers. We are so proud of you.

Thank you to for capturing the day.

Congratulations to our very own Mr. Nathan Dumser, Director of Choirs, on being named a 2026 TAA Teacher Hero by the Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation!

In his eight years at St. George’s, Mr. Dumser has built a choral program spanning both middle and upper school, led his choirs to Superior ratings at state, performed alongside the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and was just named the new conductor of the Memphis Symphony Chorus. Most importantly, he has never turned away a student who wanted to sing.

We are incredibly proud of the teacher, mentor, and leader he is every single day. Read the full story by using the link below.

After 18 years of bringing American history to life, we are celebrating the retirement of Dr. Marianne Leung, and yes, even the chickens came out to say goodbye.

Since 2008, Dr. Leung has been a cornerstone of St. George’s. She served as history department chair, sponsored our Model United Nations and Youth in Government programs, and cared for the campus chickens through the St. George’s Great Outdoors program.

Along the way, she fed generations of students, faculty, and staff with her homemade banana bread, a small and cherished tradition that says everything about the kind of person she is.

In retirement, Dr. Leung is not fully stepping away. She will continue working with St. George’s to preserve its story through oral interviews and historical archives, because who better to safeguard our history than the woman who spent 18 years teaching it?

Thank you, Dr. Leung, for every lesson, study session, and moment spent in the chicken coop. St. George’s is richer for every year you gave it.

After 23 years of sparking curiosity and igniting a love of science, it’s time to celebrate the retirement of the incredible Mrs. Bina Young.

Since 2003, she has used every corner of our 250-acre campus along the Wolf River to teach students to observe, question, and discover the natural world right outside their door.

“Her dedication to fostering a love for discovery has left an enduring impact on generations of middle schoolers and her fellow educators alike.” - Timothy Gibson, Head of Student and Alumni Affairs

Thank you, Mrs. Young, and we hope you enjoy your next adventure!

You know a St. George’s graduate by the way she solves a problem, mends a fence, takes a chance. By the way he chases a dream and builds something that lasts.

Swipe to meet 10 members of the Class of 2026, in their own words, stepping into the world they were prepared to change.

Congratulations, seniors. We could not be more proud of who you have become.
