Sometimes a child can look “fine” on paper and still be telling you something important.

Good grades.
Friends.
No obvious crisis.

And still: “I hate school.”

For some gifted children, the issue isn’t ability. It’s fit.

They need room to ask questions.
They need meaningful challenge.
They may need movement, flexibility, and the freedom to explore ideas deeply instead of simply sitting still and completing what they already understand.

And when the environment finally matches the child, everything can change.

For this student, that meant going from dreading school to loving it so much that he hates when school is closed.

That’s the difference the right environment can make for gifted learners.

A lot can happen in one week when gifted learners have room to explore, question, create, and grow. ✨

From our youngest Wonderers building independence and sharing what they’re curious about… to Exploration students strengthening reading, math, and growth mindset… to Discovery, Design, and Innovation students tackling hands-on science, personalized learning, big ideas, and collaborative projects.

Each studio looks a little different.

That’s the point.

At Mid-South Gifted Academy, learning is designed around the child in front of us — with meaningful challenge, strong relationships, and space to still be their age.

Years ahead in the classroom. Right on time as a kid.

The next Collierville Children’s Business Fair is happening Sunday, November 15, from 1–4 PM at Mid-South Gifted Academy—and now is the time for young entrepreneurs to start preparing their ideas.

If your child has been dreaming up a product, service, or business idea, encourage them to start building it now.

What will they create?
What will they call their business?
How will they price it?
How will they market it?
What will make customers stop at their booth?

At the Children’s Business Fair, kids ages 6–18 get to take those ideas from imagination to a real one-day marketplace.

They’ll practice budgeting, pricing, marketing, communication, risk-taking, problem-solving, and—most importantly—following through on an idea. That’s real learning.
