Auditions for the WCMS Speech and Debate Team are this Thursday!

So how do I audition?
Make arrangements to stay after school THURSDAY AUGUST 27 until 5PM
Prepare a 3 MINUTE MAXIMUM piece to perform for judges

Are there any changes to Speech and Debate this year?
Students must audition to earn a spot on the team
There will NOT be a Junior Varsity Team
S&D is open to 7th and 8th grade students only
The team will have a limit of 40 participants
Team fees ($75) must be paid within one week of selection, or student’s spot will be forfeited

The Friday Flames are now accepting applications!
Flames is a small CKH mentorship club that supports students through activities to build confidence, support education, and foster positive life choices.

Is this a new club?
No. Friday Flames began 5 years ago as an invitation-only club.
This year, students and parents can submit an application to join.

Since this is a small club, only 10 students will be chosen.

Get your application from Ms. Moody in Room 194.

Completed applications are due back Sept. 8.

Dear parents and guardians,

We have exciting news about our Summer 2027 Costa Rica adventure! Our program has been awarded the Global Citizen Scholarship, giving the first 20 students who enroll the opportunity to receive a $500 scholarship toward their trip.

Parents/guardians must RSVP for AND attend the upcoming parent information meeting to be eligible for the scholarship. Meeting details are only shared with families who register, so be sure to RSVP!

At the meeting, we’ll walk through what students will experience on tour, enrollment, cost and payment options, fundraising opportunities, and how EF supports families throughout the process.
