We are delighted to introduce Bethany Stewart as the Manager of Manduu Memphis! Bethany brings a wealth of experience from her athletic and fitness background and a successful career in coaching and teaching. She is a graduate of the University of Memphis and since taking the helm of Manduu Memphis in June and working with our clients, she is seeing first-hand the transformational impact of our technology.

Beginning, November 1, Bethany is taking the lead on expanding opportunities for growth and community by making our Poplar at Kirby location our sole Memphis location. The Kirby studio will be open Monday through Saturday, with plans to expand hours to include Sundays in the near future. We’re pleased to share that there will be 4 stations available during peak hours, ensuring you have ample opportunity to enjoy your sessions. Plus, we have added new equipment and suits to enhance your experience!

How can you maximize the 15-minutes of your Manduu EMS workouts?

👇

⚡️PREPARE! Coming to your workout hydrated and ready to move are essential to ensuring your muscles are engaged and ready to WORK! Hydration is key to muscle function, body temperature regulation and fatigue. We recommend using electrolytes if you continually feel dehydrated. Light dynamic stretching and movements before and after your session will also aid with your ability to push yourself during the workout and recover faster! Get to your workout a few minutes early and get that body MOVING! If you need some recommendations on dynamic movements, our trainers are happy to help!

💪 PUSH YOURSELF. We understand that you can’t go full force all the time, but we’re here to help you push yourself and activate those muscles. Communication with your trainer is imperative. Discuss how you feel during the workout so your trainer knows when to turn up certain areas! Focus on your breathing and break a sweat! We promise it will get those endorphins going!

💚 RECOVER & REWARD. Recovery is important after any strenuous activity. We recommend consuming protein within 30 minutes after your workout and hydrating! While you may not feel it right after your workout, soreness is sometimes inevitable and can even be delayed. Hydration is crucial for post-workout recovery. It helps replenish fluids lost during exercise, promotes nutrient delivery to muscles, and aids in the removal of metabolic waste products. Proper hydration and stretching can accelerate recovery time between EMS sessions. Don’t forget to rest by getting plenty of sleep and fitting in some gentle stretching or even light cardio such as a walk and recovery bike ride. Give yourself a day before doing any strenuous activities and be proud of yourself because you’ve earned it!

“The Community Health Proponent Wellness Coordinator at Methodist Le Bonheur Hospital and Trainer Amber Paxton has worked in the fitness and wellness space since graduating college. A former studio manager at Manduu Memphis, she now trains there part-time as an Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) trainer. Her full-time job involves serving as the Wellness Coordinator for Methodist Le Bonheur Hospital. At Methodist, Amber plays a crucial role in keeping the employees happy and healthy to keep their patients and people in the Memphis community healthy. She works alongside their Wellbeing Manager to provide different health and wellness programs for the associates at Methodist, such as running and walking groups that Amber leads to encourage activity.
Amber’s favorite aspect of her role is the opportunity to be creative when it comes to providing different programs for associates and being able to keep their associates healthy. She finds it rewarding to help those who do so much for the Memphis community in any way she can. She acknowledges that well-being isn’t just about eating healthy and working out. It is also about mental health and financial well-being, so she loves branching out and supporting the Methodist employees in these different areas.
Amber also helps keep the community healthy through her work as an EMS trainer at Manddu, where she works with clients in a very hands-on environment. Besides keeping others in our community healthy, Amber stays active at various studios across the 901, including Mind Body Haus, Cyclebar, and Manduu. Amber has a true passion for health and fitness and always encourages others to follow suit.”
