Training isn’t about checking movements off a list — it’s about choosing an exercise that makes sense for the horse.

Just because a horse can perform a movement doesn’t always mean they’re ready for it!

Every exercise should have a purpose, and every step should prepare the horse for what comes next.

Good training is thoughtful, progressive, and always centered around the horse😁

Midday Barn Feeder🐴

Wonder Horse Academy | Collierville, TN

We are looking for a reliable, experienced horse person to join our team as a Midday Feeder/Barn Care Assistant!

This position is responsible for providing consistent midday care for our horses, including:

* Feeding and watering horses
* Turning horses in/out
* Applying and removing blankets
* Cleaning stalls
* General horse care and barn upkeep

Requirements:
•Previous hands-on horse experience required
•Must be readily available during the midday hours
•Comfortable with physical barn work and handling multiple horses
•Dependable, observant, and committed to quality horse care
•Located in or able to reliably commute to Collierville, TN

Competitive pay based on experience.

This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys horses and takes pride in providing excellent daily care❤️

Day 2: Analysis of the Horse

Once we understand the horse in front of us, the next step is analysis and prioritization!

Where are the weaknesses? Is there crookedness? What needs to improve first?

One of the many mistakes in training is trying to fix everything at once. Instead, we create a list of priorities and build step-by-step🪜

Consider:
• What needs attention first?
• How do we build strength and balance?
• What level of intensity is appropriate?
• How do we progress without asking too much, too soon?

Good training isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing the right things, in the right order, at the right intensity.

Every horse deserves a thoughtful plan designed around them💞
