Left picture (Flaw): This position is regarded as being “too flat”, “laid off”, and other terms. These two terms are the most common. Catherine had early forearm rotation in the takeaway which led her to this position.

Right picture (Correction): This position is considered to be more “upright”, “on plane”, and other terms. Throughout golf you will see a position like this with players who have a “beautiful swing” like Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, and others. This was corrected by keeping the forearms more quiet with not so much rotation. This will allow Catherine to deliver the club more efficiently into the ball on the downswing for greater ball striking.

We got Steve a little more chest and pelvis rotation on the backswing. This lengthened and deepened his hand path which allowed him to have a more inside-out club path which produced a slight draw.

Before, Steve’s hand path was shortened and restricted due to his turn which cause an outside-in club path which produces your classic pull left or weak slice to the right depending on the club face relationship to that path.

After, Steve was hitting the ball higher and it was slightly drawing and gained 15 yards with each club with less effort.

Great lesson today for my man JT! JT came with an outside-in path which produces a 2 way miss. Today we cleaned it up with more arm structure on the backswing which allowed him to shallow the path into the ball to hit draws. No more slice! Huge improvement for his first lesson EVER! Good job JT 💪🏼⛳️🔥
