From our Director to our cafeteria employees, providing healthy and delicious school meals is what we do BEST. GCISD students are served a wide variety of meals that are nutritionally sound, as well as delicious. Meals are analyzed by a full-time Registered Dietitian for nutritional conte
nt and meet the RDA for each age/grade level. Student/parent input is utilized annually and menu adjustments are often made. Healthy snack choices are provided and nutrition education classes are part of the GCISD curriculum. Healthy eating habits are formed early in life and can provide a strong foundation for the eating habits we adopt as adults. Students at GCISD are encouraged to make daily food choices that emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat-free milk and lean sources of protein.
