It’s National Ice Cream Day, and we are celebrating with a scoop of Aggie history!
From its earliest days, Texas A&M University operated its own dairy herd and in the early 1950s started a creamery which served as a teaching and research facility for more than 40 years. The creamery produced dairy products including ice cream for the university until the creamery closed in 1995.
Now the Aggie ice cream tradition lives on at the Moore Creamery in Aggie Park. While the Moore Creamery no longer produces its own ice cream, it proudly serves Blue Bell Ice Cream. That is not just a coincidence for Aggies! Blue Bell’s own Ed Kruse and Howard Kruse, who helped build Blue Bell into the Texas institution we all know and love, were both proud Aggies.
From the classroom to the creamery to the cone, the Aggie spirit runs deep in every bite.

Thank you, Texas A&M University Faculty! When you partner with Disability Resources, you are actively investing in student success.
Disability Resources administered 37,511 exams during the 2025-26 academic year. A significant 39.3% of these exams were administered at the West Campus Testing Center, which opened in fall 2025 to meet rising demand, reduce barriers and better serve students on West Campus.
By expanding capacity and intentionally serving all corners of campus, Disability Resources ensures that every Aggie has the resources, support and access they need to thrive.
