Not every summer camp gets to visit a honey bee lab 🐝

Youth Adventure Program campers studying entomology got a closer look at the world of bees with Texas A&M University Apiculture, visiting the Honey Bee Lab and experiencing where the buzz happens firsthand.

Growing up, Ben Bond ’30 loved going to camp. This summer, he got to be on the other side of that experience as a counselor with Texas A&M’s Youth Adventure Program.

From cheering his campers on during Wacky Olympics to creating a space where every camper felt safe, included, and ready to have fun, Ben learned just how much goes into making camp memorable.

And along the way, he grew as a leader too.

“I encourage any Aggie to step into a counselor role. It’s one of the best ways to grow as a leader while giving back!”

A HUGE thank you to the H-E-B Tournament of Champions for helping more young people experience camp at Texas A&M this summer!

Their generous support helped fund scholarships for campers across several programs, giving more students the chance to explore new interests, build confidence, and take part in hands-on learning experiences they might not otherwise have had access to.

We’re grateful for partners like H-E-B who help make meaningful youth experiences possible.
