We are incredibly proud to have sent 56 new geographers into the world with their GEOG/GIST B.S. degrees at yesterday's bachelor's degree commencement, and our four new PhDs who will be hooded at tonight's doctoral commencement: Dr. Mengqu Han, Dr. Kourtney Higgins, Dr. Lauren Nyquist, and Dr. Mingzheng Yang! 🎓🧑‍⚕️🥳

Yesterday evening, the Department of Geography hosted a dinner and awards ceremony honoring our graduating seniors. A special congratulations to our Outstanding Student Award recipients—Gabrielle Hamill and Dalton Peterson—as well as our Gamma Theta Upsilon inductees and all 56 GEOG, GIST, and USGE majors who will earn their Bachelor of Science degrees at next Friday’s spring graduation ceremony 🎓✨

GIS students joined forces with the Department of Geology & Geophysics to explore what’s happening beneath the surface! Using ground-penetrating radar, they collected data and measurements to better understand the tree’s root system and overall health 👍
