Here’s a few words from Lillian Hall, Chair of the Membership Development Committee:

Howdy! I am thrilled to be the Membership Development Committee Chair! Our committee makes sure Traditions Council is not just a group of individuals, but a tight-knit family that enjoys our time spent with one another. Throughout the year, we plan fun excursions that foster genuine friendships across the council– such as our Fall Retreat and Spring Banquet. One of the most unique parts of Traditions Council is that we truly have members from all over campus who each bring their own passions and involvement–so being able to help bridge students together and bond them through service to our university is such a privilege! My first year spent on Traditions Council reflected this sentiment perfectly, and my hope is to continue to provide this experience for all of our new and returning members this year!

Today we’re highlighting the Outreach and Education Committee!

Here’s a few words from Dillon Crozier, Chair of the Outreach and Education Committee: Howdy! I have the exciting privilege to serve as the Outreach and Education Chair this year. The Outreach and Education Committee has the distinct honor and responsibility to lead the charge in upholding the mission of Traditions Council: “To Preserve and Promote the Traditions of Texas A&M”. Our job is to share the history and traditions of this great university with new and old members of the Aggie family. We work with numerous other organizations on and off campus to present information about the traditions that make Texas A&M unique and inform the wider community about the Aggie Spirit. We also prepare Traditions Council members for opportunities to grow and showcase their public speaking skills during our presentations in both big and small settings.

Today we’re highlighting the Silver Taps Committee!

Here’s a few words from Campbell Cage, Chair of the Silver Taps Committee:
Howdy! I have the honor of serving as the Silver Taps Chair for this upcoming year.Throughout the year, committee members work behind the scenes to coordinate every aspect of the Silver Taps ceremony, including organizing letter writing tables and creating and setting up reflection displays. On Silver Taps night, our committee has the privilege of supporting and hosting the families of the students being honored, ensuring they feel welcomed, cared for, and surrounded by the Aggie community as we remember their loved ones. We strive to create a space for reflection, remembrance, and connection, encouraging students to pause and honor our fellow Aggies. Held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 pm in Academic Plaza, Silver Taps provides the Aggie community with a time to pause, reflect, and remember.

Here’s a few words from Evelyn Quiñones, Chair of the Public Relations Committee:

Howdy! I have the privilege of serving as the Public Relations Chair for Traditions Council. The Public Relations Committee serves as the voice of Traditions Council by promoting the organization’s events, initiatives, and impact across campus. Through social media, graphic design, photography, and outreach efforts, the committee helps connect the Aggie community to the traditions that make Texas A&M special. The PR Committee works to increase awareness of Traditions Council programs, celebrate the stories behind Aggie traditions, and ensure students stay informed and engaged throughout the year. By sharing the spirit of Texas A&M with current and future Aggies, I am honored to serve as Public Relations Committee Chair and play a key role in preserving and promoting the traditions that unite our campus.

Howdy, Ags! This summer, we’re excited to introduce the faces behind Traditions Council through our Committee Spotlight Series. Each committee plays a unique role in preserving and promoting the traditions that make Texas A&M so special.

First up: the Bonfire Remembrance Committee.
Here’s a few words from Eleanor Jones, Chair of the Bonfire Remembrance Committee:

“Howdy! I have the honor of serving as the 2026 Bonfire Remembrance Committee Chair. Each year on November 18 at 2:42 a.m., Aggies gather at the Bonfire Memorial to honor the 12 students who lost their lives in the 1999 Bonfire collapse.
While the collapse remains one of the most difficult moments in Texas A&M history, it also revealed the strength of the Aggie Spirit. Many believe Bonfire still burned that year when thousands of Aggies, friends, and families gathered at the Polo Fields on the night Bonfire was scheduled to burn, holding candles together in silent remembrance. It was a powerful reminder that the Aggie Spirit and the love we share for the Aggie Family can never be extinguished.
The Bonfire Remembrance Committee has the privilege of carrying that spirit forward by coordinating the annual ceremony and ensuring we continue to honor and remember our fallen Aggies.”
