Congratulations to Edgar J. Rojas-Muñoz for receiving a Montague-CTE Scholars Award for development of teaching excellence!
The award is given by the Center for Teaching Excellence to tenure-track assistant professors based on their early success and passion for teaching undergraduate students.
Rojas-Muñoz, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Texas A&M Visualization Program, focuses his research on how mixed reality technologies can assist people in their day-to-day lives.
“I am deeply honored to have been selected for this award,” Rojas-Muñoz said. “This recognition motivates me to keep my teaching at the forefront of what I value, and will allow me to interact closely with other instructors who also understand that impactful teaching can truly make a difference in the lives of our students.”

Macie Landon is set to graduate Friday with a Bachelor of Science in Visualization, and will be honored as a distinguished student in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts’ Graduation Recognition Ceremony today.
Following graduation, Landon will start working as an intern at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston with the moon base strategic communications team.
“I always aim to put myself in a career position where I’m constantly learning, and I love combining my love of cinematography, animation and 3D anywhere I can,” she said. “At some point, I’d also love to explore the feature animation industry.”

Luke Killingsworth is set to graduate Friday with a Bachelor of Science in Visualization, and will be honored as a distinguished student in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts’ Graduation Recognition Ceremony on Thursday.
“I cannot express how honored I am,” he said. “So much hard work went into getting this award, and I am so grateful to receive it. As I walk the stage, I feel like I made a difference here at Texas A&M, and that’s really all I could have ever asked for.”

Theron Smith is set to graduate Saturday with a Master of Science in Visualization, and will be honored as a distinguished student in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts’ Graduation Recognition Ceremony on Thursday.
Following graduation, Smith will start working as a crowds animator at DreamWorks Animation.
“This program has reshaped my relationship with constructive feedback,” he said. “After completing courses where constructive criticism is a heavy part of the criteria, I not only see the benefit of receiving others’ input, but I also actively pursue opportunities to receive it. I have seen how collaboration can greatly enhance the end product of a creative work and shift its trajectory in a positive manner.”
