Axtell FFA was rated 🌟GOLD🌟 in the Texas FFA Golden Horizon Chapter Recognition Program!

Here is a little bit of information about the award from the Texas FFA website. The Golden Horizon Chapter Recognition program is a state level award to recognize chapters who succeed in involving a large number of members in the diverse array of activities available through the FFA. This award recognizes a well-rounded local FFA chapter with an inclusive, progressive, aggressive program of activities that promotes maximum participation in order to deliver the leadership component of agricultural education.

Chapters are recognized within Division I (one teacher), II (two-three teachers) or III (four or more teachers). Chapters are placed into Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, with the top 10% of chapters in each division receiving a Gold Ranking.

Some of our students will walk the stage at State Convention in July to be recognized!

We are excited to announce some exciting news from State Degree Check!

Proficiency Awards (awards based on the students success within their designated Supervised Agriculture Experience):

STATE CHAMPIONS:
🌟Keigan Willis: Agricultural Sales - Entrepreneurship
🌟Luke Holy: Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production

These students will walk the stage in July at the Texas FFA State Convention and receive a $1000 scholarship. They will also be advancing on to the National Contest! This is a huge accomplishment.

Axtell FFA also had 8 other proficiency applications at the state level.

We had 11 students complete a new round of Agriscience Fair projects over the last couple of months! After running their experiments and analyzing data, they submitted their manuscripts and applications in the middle of May. Last week, their manuscripts and applications were ranked gold, silver, or bronze at FFA state degree check. All gold ranked projects will be presented at Texas FFA State Convention in July for further judging!

These projects are time consuming and rigorous. We are so proud of these students for representing Axtell FFA at the state level!

⭐️BIG NEWS⭐️

Congratulations to Payton Roberts and David Dees on receiving the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Texas FFA Scholarship for the amount of $20,000 each! Receiving this scholarship reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to learning, leadership, and serving their community. This scholarship will support them as they attend college at Texas A&M University in the fall. We are incredibly proud of both of them and grateful for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for giving back to the future generations of leaders. Please join us in congratulating them on this amazing achievement!

There will be a new face around the ag building for the upcoming school year. Help us give a warm welcome to Mr. Knight!

Our new officer team had a great time at our annual officer retreat! We made big goals, discussed some future plans, and did some team bonding. A special thanks to the Nivin family for the yummy s’mores basket! 💛💙
