Department Head, Dr. Dhingra, and HSSA President Elect, Kailey Rumfield ‘29, had the distinct honor of being invited to Decision Day at Poteet High School in Poteet, TX. Olivia Fletcher ‘30 announced her commitment to join the Fightin’ Texas Aggies this coming fall. Her parents, Pat West ‘04 and Joanna Garcia, are so very proud of her.

When asked why she wanted to major in Horticulture and she said, “I want to major in horticulture at Texas A&M University because it has always been my dream school, and the only option [in TX] where a major in horticulture is offered, which I am very grateful for. Since I believe that [through] the use of knowledge I will learn, I will be allowed to better help those around me, including surrounding plants. The body is a natural based [being], so by using nature to heal the mind and body when it is ill, it would sustain the connection between ourselves and the world we live in."
